The Definition Of Al-Kalaam (الكلام)

Hello Guys, Welcome aboard in my blog, sorry long time i’m never post in here,because i’m confuse hehe....no, just kidding. cause i still study on campus so i don’t have many time to online, though i’m almost active in social media . haha....

Ok this time, I will share the knowledge in the field of Arabic Language to you. But, before i apologize, if my english this is so bad. You know, this is first time for me. So, if you wanna complaint about my bad in use it, tell me please. Because it’s can help me to better again. OK?I’ll wait  ^_^.

Okay directly to the point, this time  i’ll explain about al-kalaam (الكلام), i don’t know may be in english is called by Sentence. :-p

What is the definition al kalaam (الكلام)?

When we ask the meaning of al-kalaam, of course we have to explaining it in the arabic grammar version. Because the definition of al kalaam in arabic language is different with other languages. but Simply sometimes  it’s called by sentence to ease student of arabic language in knowing it. 

Ok then what is al kalaam? 

الكلام هو اللفظ المسند المفيد معنى تاما

"Al-kalam is articulation, propped, and useful to give complete meaning."  

 (Do you understand this? I asked because i don’t understand, haha)

After we saw the definition, we know that al kalaam contains three parts, they are : اللفظ، المسند، and المفيد.

What is the lafazh (اللفظ)? 

lafazh is :

الصوت المشتمل على بعض الحروف الهجائية

“Sound includes some of hijaiyah” (means the letter hijaiyah of hamzah (أ) to ya (ي) )

For example : from words مدرسة and  قلم ,both consist of letters hijaiyah, that is: مدرسة  consist of م، د،ر،س،ة . and قلم  too it’s consist of ق، ل، م . so, the words as school, pen, chair, etc.. in other than arabic language it was not called by lafazh because instead of letters hijaiyah.

What is the musnad (المسند)?

المسند هو ضم كلمة إلى كلمة أخرى على وجه يفيد

“Musnad is the inclusion of the word to another word, to get benefit.” (benefit here is "understanding")

Example : subject (فاعل) merged by verb (فعل). we will know what that means, when combined with other words. different if the word stands alone.

 In the minimum of al-kalaam (الكلام) consist of :

إسم و إسم         :   زيد عالم

إسم و فعل    :  علي جلس

إسم و حرف الجر ومجروره    :  الطالب في الفصل

إسم وظرف             :  السيارة أمام المدرسة

فعل و إسم                           :  صام محمد

جار ومجروره و إسم           :  في البيت كلب

ظرف و مجروره و إسم   :  وراء المسجد ميدان 

So, the name of  Al-Kalaam (الكلام) had complete composition. If we just say :  مفتاح, it’s not al-kalaam. Because it doesn’t musnad.  to make it easier, here's the deal in make a sentences minim consist of subject and predicate/verb. 

What is the mufiid (المفيد) ?

ما افاد فائدة يحسن السكوت من المتكلم و السامع 

“Useful expressions that provide insights into the listener, so that he satisfied”

In this definition sue us that in making the sentence should be understood. Part of section should be complete. I mean is if there is subject, so there should be predicate. In this section has provisions, that is :

If there is mubtada(المبتدأ), there should be khabar (الخبر). Ex :  زيد قائم

If there is fi’il (الفعل), there should be fa’il (الفاعل).  Ex :  ذهبت النساء

If there is syarat (الشرط) , there should be jawab (الجواب). Ex :  إن تذهب أذهب

So, if we just say : زيد , this is not mufiid , of course not include al-kalaam. Because al-kalaam consist of three sections, they are : اللفظ ، المسند ، المفيد. 

IMPORTANS : the definition of al kalaam according nahwu (النحو) is different from other sciences such as hadith. So be careful! don't misunderstand..hehe.. :-p

Al-kalaam have other name, that is التركيب الإسنادي and الجملة المفيدة. called with التركيب الإسنادي, because in it there leaned musnad law (حكم المسند) to musnad ilaih (المسند إليه) . and then called with الجملة المفيدة , because in there composed of two words or more and give useful meaning (understandable). 

That is the definition of al-kalam by nahwu, i wish that this article can provide benefits. especially for those who are enthusiastic in learning Arabic.
